There is no way that people can come in 80s costumes without having a blast. Who can forget the high-cut leotards, tight jeans, permed hair and totally absurd neon colors?
Just thinking about the hideous overused leopard print would be enough to explain why this would be a fun costume to wear. It is all a matter of exaggerating any of the fashion trends from the era. Those who do not wish to come in those costumes can also don something darker. Punk attires would also be fun to play with.
There are even costume wigs with Mohawk hairstyle and the like. Those would absolutely bring the costume to a different level
